School’s back in session, and it’s time for fall sports, homecoming and other events. When and wherever kids gather, parents often worry about drug and alcohol use. So, how do you talk with your middle school or high school child about this tough topic? Here are a few tips:
1. Be crystal clear about your expectations. Don’t just say “use your best judgment” or “don’t do anything inappropriate.” Instead, spell out clearly that you don’t want your son or daughter drinking alcohol, smoking pot, or taking drugs (illegal drugs or another person’s prescription medication).
